John wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to ride a motorcycle again when his melanoma continued to progress despite aggressive treatments. One of his oncologists referred him to the Atlantic Melanoma Center, where Eric Whitman, MD was leading a phase II tumor infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) clinical trial that he thought might help. This new type of personalized immunotherapy reversed the growth of John’s melanoma and has him thinking about resurrecting his bike from storage. Read more of his story >

Yoga and Meditation
Traditionally, Yoga was intended to prepare the body and mind for meditation. This class will begin with 45 minutes of Yoga, followed by 45 minutes of guided Mindfulness Meditation practices. Participants can join one or both sessions.

Scar Massage
Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Overlook Medical Center mastectomy patients who are at least six weeks post-surgery can receive a private session with a certified massage therapist to help manage their surgical scars.

For cancer patients and survivors only, this ancient system of bodywork and healing includes exercise, stretching and breathing to promote awareness and spirituality and calm the psyche. A brief meditation period will end each session.
