Cancer Programs and Screenings


Education and prevention can keep you and your loved ones healthy.  We invite you to take advantage of the programs, support groups and screenings available. Unless otherwise noted, to register for any of these programs call 1-800-247-9580 Monday through Thursday between 8:30am to 8:00pm and Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm, or sign-up online at Atlantic Health System’s classes and events registration; all programs are free unless a fee is indicated.

Survivorship Retreat for Women
Women who are currently undergoing cancer treatment or have completed treatment within the last year can partake in a day full of nurturing activities, including conversation, reflection, meditation, creative expression and mindful movement.
Fee: $25

Renewing You: A Cancer Survivorship Program
Over the course of eight weeks, cancer survivors will learn how to use the nutrition plan of renowned physician Joel Fuhrman, MD, as well as exercise and stress management, to renew all aspects of their health – mind, body and spirit.
Fee: $550 ($275 deposit required)

Art Expressions
Art therapy promotes relaxation and supports healing on all levels – mind, body and spirit. This weekly group is open to adults who are currently undergoing cancer treatment or have completed treatment within the last year. No artistic experience is necessary and all materials are supplied.

Mindfulness Tools for Cancer Recovery

Qi Gong and Tai Chi for Healing
Partake in gentle movement, breathing and meditation exercises designed to activate the body’s natural ability to heal. This class is open to all cancer patients and their caregivers.

Drop In Meditation and Mindful Movement

Scar Massage
Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Overlook Medical Center mastectomy patients who are at least six weeks post-surgery can receive a private session with a certified massage therapist to help manage their surgical scars.

Breast Cancer Support Group
A licensed social worker and registered nurse lead a discussion-based peer support group for Overlook Medical Center patients in their first year of breast cancer treatment.
